A site for Opportunity Village, a proposed homeless camp, has been selected in Eugene. It's an industrial area near railroad tracks with few other people around it. There are no street lights, and the nearest bus stop is at least a couple of blocks away.

Eugene ready to make deal on downtown retail building

City officials in Eugene have a 12,800-square-foot downtown retail building for sale. Any buyers interested have until Dec. 14 to make an offer on the building at the corner of 10th Avenue and Olive Street. The building is next to the city's transit mall and public library as well as the campus of Lane Community College.

Police recover stolen construction trailer in Eugene

Police have recovered a trailer stolen from a construction site in Eugene over the weekend. According to police reports, thieves broke through a locked fence where a new medical building for the Lane Pregnancy Support Center - a nonprofit agency opposed to abortion - is under construction at East 11th Avenue and Ferry Street. The theft occurred sometime between Oct. 19 and 22.
