Central Oregon thinks regionally to attract large lot industrial employers
Facebook's presence in Prineville has been a boon to almost all of Central Oregon, which is why local officials want to make expanding urban growth boundaries easier in hopes that the availability of industrial land will attract more companies. But land-use advocates say companies like Facebook don't create enough jobs to justify the land sacrifice.
Facebook doubling size of Prineville data center
Facebook announced late last week that it will double the size of its data center currently under construction in Prineville. The expansion will add 160,000 square feet to the shell of the building, which was originally set to be 147,000 square feet.

Facebook today announced the groundbreaking of its new, 147,000-square-foot data center, located in Prineville. The $188.2 million data center will employ 200 construction workers in the coming year.
