A local nonprofit is seeking relocation of the USS Ranger aircraft carrier from Bremerton, Wash., to a moorage facility in Fairview. The ship will be torn apart for salvage in 2012 if it does not find a new home, but the group wants to turn it into the world’s largest floating museum.

The Metro Council, with support from the city of Fairview, has conditionally approved turning 70 unused acres of land at the eastern end of the Blue Lake Regional Park in Fairview into a gold-level certified disc golf course.
