First director hired for a Portland eco-district

The Lloyd eco-district is ready to kick off as an official entity this summer with the hiring of a new director. Sarah Heinicke, a former sustainability advisor at Brightworks and consultant at Verditas LLC, will begin leading district sustainability efforts July 1, according to Lloyd transportation management association director Rick Williams.

Portland's first eco-district pilot project is moving forward in the Lloyd District. Naomi Cole of the Portland Oregon Sustainability Initiative says that project stakeholders have signed a declaration of cooperation to perform a pilot eco-district project in the Lloyd District.
