Voters approve North Bethany property tax
The 109 registered voters in the unincorporated North Bethany area of Washington County on Tuesday night overwhelmingly approved a permanent property tax rate to help pay for transportation needs in the area pegged for extensive development.
North Bethany ordinance passes with provisions
The Washington County Board of Commissioners last week preliminarily approved the basic structure of a land-use ordinance that will guide the future development of North Bethany. But ironing out the fine details is going to require more time.
North Bethany development gets push
In an attempt to spur job growth, Washington County is trying to get development rolling in North Bethany after three years of planning. The county canceled one of the last hearings on the development and is suggesting new taxes to raise funds.
