The block between North Fremont and Cook streets resembles a forest more than anything else. The vegetation isn’t just a layer of grass or a few small plants ― whole trees have grown up inside the space, speaking to years of disuse ― some residents have taken to calling it the "Fremont Forest."

Lompoc silo raised

The Lompoc Fifth Quadrant Brewery in North Portland will use a silo to hold up to 60,000 pounds of base malt and increase its beer production capabilities. The unit was installed on the roof because the interior lacked sufficient space.
