Wind power manufacturer Vestas announced Friday the launch of what it claims will be the world鈥檚 most efficient wind turbine. The offshore turbine has a seven-megawatt capacity and a rotor diameter of 164 meters.

Eagle nests impede Oregon wind farm
A planned wind farm in Eastern Oregon has been called into question by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The federal agency this week told LotusWorks, a Vancouver, Wash.-based energy developer, that its plan for the Wasco County Summit Ridge wind farm had turbines sited too close to possible golden eagle nests.
