As a result of a decade of advances in nanotechnology, molecular engineering is the science of creating new molecules that may not exist in nature. Doctors will have the tools to pinpoint the exact location of disease molecules inside cells and will be able to send safe biologic agents to attack the disease.

The University of Washington Molecular Engineering Building will be a four-story concrete structure of approximately 80,000 square feet. The building will have research laboratories to support research in the fields of biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, and other related fields.

This portion of the project consists of bid package #3.A (abatement and demolition) and bid package #3.B (site work and utilities).

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. at the University of Washington campus, Schmitz Hall, room 538.
