Bid Date/Time: July 23, 2009, 2 p.m.

The project consists of the construction of a new 10,300-square-foot regional food bank warehouse facility to be located on Chokeberry Avenue in Warrenton. The facility is being constructed for Clatsop Community Action, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency food services, shelter, low-income housing, case management and public benefit information to residents in need. This facility is being constructed to replace the current deteriorating wood-frame building that is no longer suitable to function and serve the growing needs of the hungry in Clatsop County.

Money for the project has been raised, in part, via a block grant from the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department, generous donations from several private foundations and fundraising efforts by Clatsop Community Action.

The primary structure is to be a 60-foot-by-125-foot pre-engineered steel building with interior wood-framed office mezzanines, a walk-in cooler/freezer combo, storage racks, and related equipment. The building will sit on a concrete mat foundation over surcharged and improved native soil. All spaces will be conditioned with forced air gas heat. The site will be improved with new utilities, landscaping, an asphalt parking lot and concrete walkways.

Bidders are advised that a mandatory pre-bid meeting for all prime contractors is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday at Warrenton City Hall, 224 S. Main St.
