Bid status: canceled

On Tuesday, Tillamook County advertised the Wilson River Revetment project in the 鈥淥fficial Call for Bids.鈥 The county was requesting proposals for a qualified contractor to reconstruct a revetment about 1,000 feet long on the South Bank of the Wilson River, just upstream from US Highway 101 in the city of Tillamook. The county was looking for a contractor with extensive experience in working in sub-tidal conditions with coffer dams and fish salvage operations.

The project has been canceled, however, because a certain permit had not been issued yet, even though it had been applied for 120 days previously.聽 The county hopes the permit will be issued soon because the project will need to be constructed during a time that causes the least disturbance to fish habitats. Time is also of the essence because of the history of flooding in Tillamook County.

The anticipated start date for the project was Aug. 6, with a completion date of Sept. 15. The county is hoping to be able to re-advertise the project very soon.
