Columbia Hills State Park is a 3,338-acre camping park with 7,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on the Columbia River and was the site of a Native American village where the Lewis and Clark expedition once camped.

This project consists of the stabilization of a historic 19th-century barn located within Columbia Hills State Park, just northeast of The Dalles. The barn is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

The project will require the successful bidder to have an extensive knowledge and proficiency in the application of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

Work includes interior vertical timber-frame and stick-frame realignment, nondestructive installation of semipermanent bracing, temporary structural repairs, removal and reinstallation of a section of concrete stem wall and associated spread footing, site excavation and grading, hand excavation, metal fabrication, use of epoxy glues, consolidators and wood fillers, and other work.

The estimated cost is between $125,000 and $175,000.
