Bid Date/Time: Aug. 12, 2009, 11 a.m.

This project within Memorial City Park in Pasco, Wash., consists of the renovation of an existing 50-meter outdoor pool and construction of a new recreational leisure pool.

The existing facility consists of an outdoor pool more than 60 years old and a bathhouse with a basement. The bathhouse will be demolished down to the structural slab/foundation that exists above the basement area, which will remain. An adjacent filter pit also will remain and be incorporated into the new work.

The bathhouse structure will be reconstructed with concrete, masonry, steel columns and a wood-framed roof. Work on the existing 50-meter pool tank will include use of a pre-manufactured gutter and vinyl liner system manufactured by Myrtha Pools International; the installer must be approved by the manufacturer.

That system and the recreational leisure pool system are both owner furnished/contractor installed items.
Mechanical and electrical systems will be removed and replaced throughout, along with existing pool deck slabs and fencing. Areas adjacent to the work will receive landscaping, irrigation and paving.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held at the site, 1520 W. Shoshone St., last month. The base bid estimate range is $2 million to $2.5 million. A 5-percent bid bond is required. Construction will be completed no later than May 24, 2010.
