Work on the extensive renovation of the Willamette Building in downtown Portland is continuing. The building at the corner of Southwest Second Avenue and Yamhill Street is getting seismic, mechanical and electrical upgrades as well as a complete interior remodel to become the home for Portland Community College staff and administrative personnel. Fortis Construction Co. is the general contractor and SERA Architects is the designer of the renovation.

A leaky membrane outside the Three World Trade Center in downtown Portland signals that a move to sustainable landscaping is under way. Native herbaceous plants, special water-retaining soil and bioswales are all being used in the renovation of the space on the Northwest side of the building. Garron Grounds is the landscape architect and D&R Masonry Restoration is doing the masonry work
for the project.

Punch-list items are all that remain for the renovation below the west end of the Burnside Bridge. Boarded-up space near MAX tracks has been remodeled and is ready for retail businesses. The project also included the rebuilding of stairs to the upper deck of the bridge and adding lighting under the structure. Cedar Mill Construction Co. is the general contractor, TVA Architects is the designer and Walker Macy is the landscape architect of the project.
