Gerding Edlen Development‘s The 20 on Hawthorne, on a corner of Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard and 20th Avenue, has 51 apartment units, live/work spaces and 4,984 square feet of retail and restaurant space on its ground floor. The building constructed by Lorentz Brunn Construction Co. is now open.

A robotic parking system at The 20 on Hawthorne uses moving 鈥榯rays’ to stack residents’ cars, creating 29 parking spaces in the space of 10 typical spaces. Though cars are stacked on top of each other, Damin Tarlow of Gerding Edlen says it takes less than 60 seconds to retrieve a car from the system, which was manufactured by Harding Steel of Denver. This is the first puzzle-lift parking system to be installed in Oregon.
