This project consists of replacing plumbing at Van Vista Plaza, a low-rent, assisted-living, high-rise facility in Vancouver, Wash.

Work includes demolition and replacement of the domestic hot and cold water piping system and selected plumbing fixtures. Demolition and replacement of the existing piping, walls, casework, and other work will be required to facilitate the new piping systems. Also included are wall changes, cabinet replacement, finishes and electrical work.

An inspection of samples of pipe joint insulation indicated that pipe joint insulation (elbows and tee) contains 5 percent chrysotile asbestos. There was no asbestos detected in the gypsum wallboard or wall mastic sample. Glove-bag removal of materials containing asbestos is required for the project.

A pre-bid meeting and walk-through will be held on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the site, 410 W. 13th St. in Vancouver, Wash.
