A vehicle that uses energy up to 400 percent more efficiently than gas-powered engines was unveiled in Pioneer Courthouse Square today.
Oregon-based electric vehicle start-up Arcimoto demonstrated its three-wheeled Pulse, a vehicle powered by a zero-emission electric drive system that is expected to cost below $20,000. Besides its efficiency, the vehicle’s makers made an effort to lower the environmental impact of the vehicle itself, using recyclable paint-free lightweight plastic composites for the shell and constructing some of the vehicle’s interior walls and floor mats from recycled plastic bottles.
