The Corvallis Rural Fire Protection District surrounds the greater Corvallis area providing fire suppression and fire prevention services through a contract with the city of Corvallis Fire Department. These services are delivered from five city-owned fire stations and one CRFPD-owned facility, Locke Fire Station. The city-owned fire stations are professionally staffed, while Locke Fire Station is run by a CFD lieutenant, who oversees nine volunteer interns and four citizen volunteers. Locke Station, also known as Station 6, is at 544 N.W. Lewisburg Ave. It opened in October 2000.

The project consists of the construction of approximately 840 additional square feet of interior space, the renovation of approximately 460 square feet into living quarters, and construction of a covered patio area of approximately 80 square feet and a concrete patio of approximately 406 square feet. The purpose of the expansion of existing interior space is to increase the building’s living capacity to serve nine fully trained individuals.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the station. Complete plans and specifications will be handed out at the meeting. The proposed date for the project to be completed is March 1, 2010.
