This park along the Rogue River in Grants Pass was built largely through the efforts of community volunteers. It features facilities for many sports, including four softball fields, two baseball fields, a soccer field, three sand volleyball courts, a fly-casting pond, a jogging trail, wildlife viewing areas, wetland areas, fishing ponds, three tennis courts, four basketball courts, 12 horseshoe pits and seven shelters available for reservations. The ponds are stocked periodically with trout, naturally reproducing bluegill, catfish and bass.

This project consists of 125 tons of 2-inch-thick asphalt path 10 feet wide and 640 square feet of 8-foot-wide sidewalk. Work includes mobilization, work zone traffic control, clearing and grubbing, general earthwork, aggregate base course, asphalt pavement, concrete sidewalk, concrete ADA wheelchair ramp, and other work.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held today at the Grants Pass City Managers Conference Room at 101 N.W. A St. at 10 a.m. Work shall be completed no later than 30 calendar days after the engineer gives the contractor written notice to proceed.
