Chris Franz with D&R Masonry Restoration copies a scroll to perform sculpture work on a damaged one on the front of the Dekum Building at 519 S.W. Third Ave. in downtown Portland. The Portland masonry company since the beginning of the year has been repairing and cleaning the exterior of the building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Franz is using Jahn masonry mortar to repair the structure鈥檚 many complex sandstone shapes and sculptures.
