The Mt. Hood Cultural Center & Museum, which sits at the 4,000-foot level of Mount Hood, is the centerpiece of history, culture and mountain geology for the Government Camp community. Mount Hood history is kept alive through the events, stories, exhibits and artifacts from the region housed in a building that formerly was a bed-and-breakfast. The museum features photographs, artifacts and reference books for additional research, and houses a display of original Ray Atkeson photos.

This project consists of building improvements involving selective demolition, removal of existing plumbing, reconfiguration of affected electrical systems and renovations required to install a new hydraulic elevator at the museum, located at 88900 E. Highway 26 Business Loop in Government Camp. Bidders and/or their subcontractors must be licensed with the state of Oregon to perform electrical work associated with the installation of elevators.

An optional walk-through is scheduled for Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the project site.

The architect’s cost estimate is $254,000.
