In 2007, the city of Silverton adopted a downtown master plan that called for street furniture and lighting. The city of Wilsonville offered 31 decorative street lights left over from a completed project, at $800 apiece – half of their original value. The city of Silverton purchased the lights for $24,800.
The city of Silverton (population 9,600), requests proposals from a professional lighting engineer to provide a lighting design for the 31 decorative street lights, and is requesting a professional lighting engineer provide a lighting design that accommodates street lights in the downtown area. Lighting design shall meet IES standards, and ODOT requirements for state highways within the downtown area.
A mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Fischer Building, 400 South Water St.
If necessary, final interviews of three chosen firms will be conducted on Feb. 10, and the proposal will be awarded March 1.
Design plans and specifications will be completed by May 18.
