The steel that is being erected for the Portland State UniversityScience Building 2 was fabricated by Alpha Iron. The project also calls for the modernization and expansion of labs and teaching spaces on the upper floors of the building as well as electrical, plumbing and HVAC upgrades. Also, a new hazardous waste handling facility is being added to the west side of the structure. Alliance Industrial Group is subcontracted for construction. Hoffman Construction Co. is the general contractor and IDC Architects is the designer of the project that should be completed in spring 2001.
