Seattle Public Schools is accepting bids for the reroofing and seismic renovation of Meany Middle School. The school is named after Edmond S. Meany, a professor of botany and history at the University of Washington.
Work consists of selective demolition; hazardous materials abatement; masonry restoration and cleaning; removal and replacement of roofing, insulation and flashing; seismic improvements; installation of doors, frames, and hardware; handicapped accessibility improvements; finish systems; and other work. The anticipated cost range is $900,000 to $1.2 million.
Prospective bidders may inspect the project site on Thursday during a pre-bid site meeting and walk-through at 2 p.m. at Meany Middle School, 301 21st Ave. E. in Seattle. Interested contractors must check in at the main office beforehand.
