The solicitation for this project is issued under the provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and the construction estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000.

There are two separate work sites associated with this contract; both are located within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in the state of Washington. The site for the government-furnished bridge kits is located at the Mount Adams Ranger District, Wind River Work Center, in Carson, Wash.

Both bridges are timber treated. Compass Creek Bridge is 11 feet long, and Crater Creek Bridge is 19 feet long. Both projects involve removing the bridges and transporting and installing a government-furnished, 54-foot-four-inch-long steel modular bridge, and installing pre-cast concrete wing walls and abutments, retaining walls and associated components.

Due to owl habitat and stream low flow, work normally would start after July 15. However, the Forest Service is working with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to move the start work date to July 1. All in-stream work will occur between July 1 and Sept. 30.
