Bid Date/Time: May 14, 2 p.m.

This project consists of the seismic upgrade of the existing 40-foot-by-100-foot portion of the Gladstone Fire Station, built circa 1947, at 555 Portland Ave. in Gladstone.

The upgrade includes the addition of the following seismic-load resisting components: shotcrete walls and concrete footings, steel studs with anchorage to existing masonry walls, roof anchors and wood blocking, and plywood roof sheathing over existing roof decking and a new roof covering. Work will also include minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing improvements.

An addition was constructed in 2008 that is not structurally connected to the original building; it is not part of the scope of work.

The owner has independent contractors for hazardous material abatement, moving and book services, and systems furniture work; such work will not be included in the bid.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on April 30, and all prospective bidders were required to attend.
