Dimmit Middle School opened as a junior high in 1959. It was named after Alva Wallace Dimmitt, who was principal of the Sartori School in 1911. It was officially named Dimmitt Junior High School during the 1970-71 school year and later renamed Dimmitt Middle School. The school is at 12320 80th Ave. S. in Seattle.

This project consists of regrading the site for the revised east parking lot, and installing an athletic field and a north play area. Two courtyards also will be demolished and renovated, and a dumpster enclosure will be constructed near the north play area. Work also includes replacement of the classroom casework, and mechanical, plumbing and electrical improvements.

Substantial completion for the courtyard and interior work of this contract is Aug. 27, and substantial completion of the site work is Oct. 20.
