The Vernonia School District intends to construct a new K-12 school facility, at Spencer Park at Missouri and Oklahoma streets in Vernonia. The project will include site, civil and facility construction to replace the existing K-12 school facilities at another site. Design of the facility is finished through design development. This Request for Proposals is the first step in the bidding process and includes submissions of qualifications from prime contractors.

Qualified prime contractors will be invited to participate in Step 1: “Best Value Proposal,” which will bid on July 9; a short list of qualified prime contractors will be chosen. Step 2, bidding on Sept. 1, will consist of “Best and Final Offer” proposals from the short list of contractors.

The number of proposals received, the identity of proposers, or the contents of any offer will not be disclosed to the public until all proposals have been evaluated, negotiations have been completed and an award has been executed.

The district desires occupancy of the new school no later than June 2012, or sooner if feasible.
