The Clackamas County transportation maintenance division is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors for trenchless services. The county has found that trenchless technology can benefit maintenance of road culverts that are buried deeply under roadways.

The culverts average from 10 inches to 24 inches. The technology allows culverts to be replaced without hard road closures, without disturbance of the pavement surface, under safer work-zone conditions, and for a lower cost.

Typical work required may include, but may not be limited to: hammering a new culvert in deep fill, bursting or splitting an existing culvert and pulling a new sleeve, reaming an existing culvert to remove it and pulling a new sleeve, lining an existing culver with a sleeve, directional drilling, and other work.
