The Oregon State University rowing club was established in 1929. It won its first race, against the University of Washington, and has since been successful through the years. On June 8, 26 OSU student-athletes were named to Pac-10 Conference all-academic rowing teams.
This project consists of the construction of a new rowing facility on the site of the existing facility in Corvallis.
Work includes partial demolition and a construction of a new locker room facility as well as additions to the facility and the adjacent boat storage building, along with associated site and utility work.
Site work consists of excavation for the new wing of the building; extensive reworking of existing parking, driveway and yard areas; demolition of outbuildings on the project site; regarding; and landscaping work. Site work also includes new gravel drive and yard areas, new porous asphalt paving and curbing at parking and pedestrian areas, new site lighting and upgraded or modified utility connections. Selected existing utilities will be capped or terminated as part of the work.
Building work will include the new locker room facilities, trophy/reception area, laundry facilities, storage areas and associated circulation. Interior space will be augmented by exterior porches and covered walkways. Coaches’ offices, changing rooms, restrooms and shower rooms, team room and boat storage will be addressed as alternates.
