This project in Skykomish, Wash., consists of extending the town’s sewer system across the John Glick Henry Memorial Bridge, which is approximately 300 lineal feet.
The 2010 remediation project in Skykomish is the result of contamination from the former BNSF Railway Way Co. maintenance and fueling facility, which operated there from the late 1800s until 1974. Prospective bidders for the sewer collection system are advised that other work will be occurring in the town.
Work includes a jack-and-bore crossing of U.S. Route 2; installation of effluent sewer with PVC conduit for future communications and associated cleanouts, side sewers and valves; installation of on-site systems including septic tanks, septic pumping, abandoning tanks, restoration; and other work.
Construction of Phase 3A cannot proceed until Oct. 18, and is then scheduled to be substantially completed within 70 working days. The engineer’s cost estimate for this project is $410,000.
