Bid Date/Time: Aug. 11, 2 p.m.

The 2009 Oregon Legislature passed a bill allowing county election offices to start counting ballots up to seven days before Election Day.

Counties are required to provide the Elections Division with a detailed security plan covering how they will secure the tally equipment, ballots and count. Now, 26 of Oregon’s 36 counties will require installation or upgrade of security camera systems.

The Secretary of State is seeking proposals for the installation and implementation of security camera systems, or the addition of supplemental equipment to be added to existing systems, for 26 counties. Additional counties may be added to this project in the future.

Notification of the apparent successful proposer is scheduled for Aug. 19.
