The Puyallup Tribe of Indians is currently in the design phase for a three-phase Justice Center to be located on trust land in the tribal reservation in Washington State. This request for proposals seeks to identify a consultant or team of consultants for Phase I, a correctional facility. The consultant will provide professional services for plan/code review, civil engineering review, building inspections, testing and inspections, electrical inspections, and building commissioning.

The Phase 1 – Correctional Facility consists of approximately 21,764 square feet and will accommodate detention, administration and visitors areas, prisoner intake and processing, food preparation and storage, medical examination, laundry facilities, a multipurpose room, indoor and outdoor recreation areas, outdoor and a sallyport.

The corrections building will be a two-story building with a mezzanine in the detention area. The large central space is an outdoor recreation area and will feature an open-air design. Construction is planned as NFPA 5000 Type II-000 (TYPE II-B), with cast-in-place concrete retaining walls, concrete masonry bearing walls, and steel composite floor and roof decks.

According to the RFP review and selection process schedule, the successful firm will be selected Aug. 28.
