Lane Community College has provided educational services from its Downtown Center, on the corner of 11th Avenue and Willamette Street in Eugene, for more than 30 years. Now the college intends to build a larger, mixed-use building at another site in downtown Eugene. The Downtown Campus Building, which will be used for educational and other services, will be on a vacant, half-block site bounded by Charnelton Street on the west, 10th Avenue on the south and Olive Street on the east.

The college plans to accomplish this project in two phases. The first is a feasibility report. The second consists of developing the report’s initiatives into a building and moving the occupants and contents at the Willamette Street building into the new one.

The college is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced firms to provide project management services for the new mixed-use building. The college intends to develop the second phase by establishing a project consultant team. It will include Robertson/Sherwood Architects in association with SRG Partnership to provide architectural services, a construction manager/general contractor and a commissioning agent – all under the leadership of the project manager.

The college has not yet secured all money needed to complete the project. However, the college wants to proceed with the understanding that at some point during the design period the project scope may have to be changed to match available money. The college has budgeted $750,000 for project manager fees and reimbursable expenses.
