Portland Community College is in need of a Tier III data center to facilitate business continuity and implement disaster recovery strategies. PCC is seeking consulting services to identify, analyze and review co-location facilities for the data center. One possible site has been identified; PCC wants to identify and evaluate additional opportunities.
Required consulting services include expertise in data center design, use, and co-location selection criteria. The data center requires at least 2,000 square feet to house 30 racks for business and academic applications, servicers and network infrastructure. The consultant will work in collaboration with the bond program and office technology solution services to evaluate the feasibility of data center co-location.
PCC seeks to incorporate “green IT” solutions in mechanical, cooling, lighting, and electrical systems to maximize energy efficiency, minimize environmental impact and reduce operating costs and overall carbon emissions.
A minimum of three firms will be selected, and the college may schedule interviews. The intent to award will be issued in September.
