TriMet owns and operates approximately 600 buses, 127 light-rail vehicles and six commuter-rail vehicles. This project consists of a request for quotes from qualified firms for the fabrication and installation of four RDC pilot frame assemblies for the passenger railcars.

After the frames are fabricated, the contractor will be required to perform a field installation of the frames as well as a field fit of the pilot. The field fit will require supporting the pilot for attachment of a mounting bracket that will be provided by the transit agency. TriMet maintenance personnel will be available for on-site assistance.

Field fit and field installation may require the welder to be on site for more than one day, and days of field welding may not be consecutive. All welding will need to be performed by a certified welder and then inspected by an welding inspector.

TriMet anticipates one contract award as a result of this solicitation. Multiple contract awards will not be given.
