The ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash., is the home of the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey team, and is a dynamic venue for other sports, entertainment, concerts, and trade shows. The center can hold 6,100 spectators for hockey and 7,800 for concerts. Construction, which cost $63 million, finished in 2009. The center is the first sports and entertainment facility in North America to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold certification. Parking is always free at the ShoWare Center, and prime parking spaces are available for hybrid vehicles or cars carrying at least four people.

This project consists of installation of a double-sided, 9-foot-high by 20-foot-wide, 20-millimeter, light-emitting diode, RGB video display. It will be supported by a single pylon with a brushed, stainless wrap. The bottom of the display will be 20 feet above ground. The top of the display will feature a 3-foot-high by 17-foot-wide “ShoWare Center” static sign.

Work includes sidewalk removal and replacement, sign structure and foundation, two LED, RGB video displays, two static signs, temporary fencing and other work.

The project will be completed within 60 calendar days after issuance of the notice to proceed. The engineer’s estimate for this project is approximately $200,000.
