Bid Date/Time: Nov. 3, 5 p.m.
Northwest Seaport is soliciting interest from shipyards and marine repair companies to perform specified repairs to Lightship No. 83, which is moored at Seattle’s Lake Union Park. Northwest Seaport is a certified nonprofit organization and has received federal grant money, distributed through the Washington State Department of Transportation, to rehabilitate the lightship and to provide public programming. The vessel, which was decommissioned in 1960, is recognized by the U.S. Department of the Interior as a national historic landmark.
Phase 1 of this project is to remove asbestos-bearing material, stabilize the overhead rigging and service the ship’s electrical and plumbing systems.
