Local businesses are being asked to check their watts, wheels, waste and water use as part of a citywide sustainability challenge from the .
BOMA Portland is asking Portland real estate owners to sign up for , a citywide challenge to building owners to determine their carbon footprint and make a plan to reduce it. The name comes from the four areas that produce a building’s carbon footprint: electricity use, transportation to and from the building, waste and water.
Participants will be hooked up with a 4Square coach to assist owners with their sustainability initiatives. Their buildings will also be studied to find out where energy is being consumed using ‘s benchmarking method. There is no cost associated with participating, which makes this opportunity to address your building’s energy use even more appealing.
