I love Mexican food more than the average person. But even I can’t condone the planning that has led to four different fast-food Mexican restaurants being located within one city block in Northeast Portland
Our astute photographer Dan Carter this week reports a former pizza restaurant at Northeast Eighth Avenue and Weidler Street will soon be converted into a . The address immediately caught my attention because one street down is a trio of Americanized-Mexican goodness: A , and are all located at the intersection of Northeast 7th Avenue and Weidler Street.
Why would they do this? I assume one of these fast-food restaurants came first, and the others followed hoping to cash-in on customers willing to stray from their usual taco purveyor. The only question that remains now is who has the better carne asada?
