The city of Portland is in contract negotiations with to oversee the city’s solar installation plans.
The city in November advertised for a private-sector partner to oversee its solar installation projects as part of the city’s . The plan includes a directive to purchase or generate 100 percent of electricity for city operations from renewable sources, with at least 15 percent of that generated on-site or in-district using solar, biogas or other renewable energy sources.
Steve Glista, senior procurement specialist with the city of Portland, said the city’s evaluation committee selected EC Company from a pool of eleven proposals. Â The details of EC Company’s contract have not yet been finalized, Glista said, but EC Company’s first project will be a solar installation on the Dishman Community Center on Northeast Knott Street.
