This project consists of renovations and a 4,530-square-foot, single-story addition to the 12,550-square-foot, two-story library in Happy Valley.

Work includes, but is not limited to: demolition of partition walls; reconstruction of structural components to satisfy new design loads; construction of a new primary egress; upgrades to ceilings, restrooms, railings, heating and cooling, and lighting systems; new interior finishes to be applied to the existing and new sections; construction of a new entrance plaza requiring the relocation of two existing power transformers; storm water revisions regarding an adjacent detention pond, sidewalk improvements and construction of a 49-space, lit and landscaped parking lot.

Construction is to be completed and occupancy secured by Sept. 30, 2011. The estimated construction cost is $2 million.
