The Granada Theater is in the heart of The Dalles’ historic downtown. Its Moorish architecture reflects the appeal of the silent films first shown in the theater in 1930. The original organ used to accompany those silent films is still in place.

This project consists of a request for proposals for final design and construction improvements. Work includes completing a final design for all improvements, submitting the design documents for approval, obtaining all necessary permits for construction, providing construction-related inspection and testing services, developing an itemized schedule of any independent inspections required during construction and associated cost estimates, and developing as-build documentation for all improvements. Construction will involve the installation of an upgraded HVAC system, installation of a fire sprinkler system, and the upgrade of entrance and exit doors to comply with fire code requirements.

The project is anticipated to start in March and be substantially completed by June 30.
