This project consists of renovations at Columbia and Wing Luke elementary schools in Seattle. There are individual scopes of work for each school.

At Columbia Elementary School, work consists of demolishing the existing roofing at indicated areas; providing and installing new, tapered, rigid insulation on existing wood deck; and providing and installing new, built-up roof assembly including sheet metal and associated work. Alternate bids to be received are for installation of a new roof for the lower play court, resurfacing of the existing chimney and installation of fall restraints.

Work at Wing Luke Elementary school includes demolishing existing floor surfacing and associated construction areas; installing new carpet, floor tile and surfaces; providing and installing new countertops; handrails and finishes; providing and installing modular furniture in the lobby area; demolishing existing exterior windows and installing new thermal-pane operable windows; demolishing existing interior glazing and door side-lites; installing new safety glass; demolishing existing hot water heater and installing new high-efficiency condensate hot water heater; installing new energy-efficient pump motors and two-way valves in the existing heating system and upgrading the existing DDC head end; and installing new exterior fencing and gate entrances. Alternate bids include installing rubber tile at Rooms 127 and 129 and installing acoustical ceiling panels at Pods A and B.

The notice to proceed is scheduled for April 22. The estimated cost of the project is from $900,000 to $1 million.
