Bid Date/Time: Feb. 22, 5 p.m.

Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1 and its partners propose to deploy two utility-scale tidal energy turbines in Admiralty Inlet in Puget Sound. Admiralty Inlet has been identified as one of the largest tidal hydrokinetic resources in the U.S. and was selected as the result of a rigorous review of several potential sites in Puget Sound. As a result of an RFP/SOQ in August 2008, OpenHydro Group Ltd. was selected from the 11 responses received. The PUD presently has a contract in place with OpenHydro to support plant design and permitting activities.

The PUD is soliciting statements of qualifications from engineering firms interested in performing professional electrical, civil, mechanical, structural and other engineering and geologic services for the project.
