Oregon saw a small increase of 100 construction jobs in the month of December, which is good news considering that 36 states across the country lost jobs in the same period, .

The 0.2 percent increase in workforce means there are now 65,200 construction jobs in the state, but it still represents a loss of 2,800 jobs compared with the same month a year ago.

Washington saw a similar small increase, with 800 new jobs for the month, up 0.6 percent. For the year, Washington’s construction workforce dropped by 3,300 workers and stood at 138,900 at the end of December.

, Delaware had the largest percentage increase in employment for the month at 1.6 percent, with 300 jobs. That was followed by Texas, with a 1.5 percent increase and 8,700 jobs; and Virginia, which had a 0.7 percent increase with 1,300 jobs.

States with the largest percentage losses for the month were West Virginia, with a 8.4 percent decrease and a loss of 2,800 jobs and North Dakota, with a 7.1 percent decrease and a loss of 1,500 jobs.
