The Bend Park and Recreation District is a special taxing district established under Oregon law for the sole purpose of providing park and recreation services. The district encompasses an area slightly larger than the city of Bend, and covers a population of approximately 84,000. In 2006, BPRD received the National Recreation and Park Association’s gold medal award for excellence in park and recreation management. The district maintains and operates more than 2,500 acres of developed and undeveloped parkland that includes 81 parks and open spaces, and 54 miles of trail. BPRD offers more than 3,200 recreation activities to people of all ages and abilities.

The Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking a qualified team to provide necessary assessment and service analysis to determine the current and future needs for recreation program services and indoor recreation facilities. Proposals shall be based on two phases of work. Phase 1 will begin with award of the contract.

The contract is anticipated to be awarded March 1. The Phase 1 report is scheduled for Sept. 30.
