The Alaska Department of Transportation is accepting proposals from general contractors to serve as CM/GC for the renovation of the Johnson Youth Center in Juneau, Alaska. The center is a 30-bed youth facility that provides Southeast Alaska with juvenile admissions, detention, treatment and probation services. The facility’s four primary components are in three buildings.
The core building houses the detention and probation programs. The existing building is significantly undersized to accommodate current needs. The renovation will restructure both the detention and probation spaces.
This project is scheduled to begin in March and wrap up by December 2012. The overall cost estimate for this project is between $5 million and $10 million.
