The Port of Portland deicing system enhancement project at the Portland International Airport is designed to protect water quality in the Columbia Slough. Anti-icing and deicing materials used on runways during cold weather will be captured and then piped to storage tanks and a treatment plant at the west end of the airport. General contractor JE Dunn Construction Co. is in charge of the project designed by CDM.
