The Redmond Armory was constructed in 1955 and over the years has received several additions: a vehicle storage building (1960) that serves as the vehicle maintenance shop, a storage building (1990), a flammable storage building (1990) and a kitchen (2000).

Several repairs are planned for portions of the facility, including the maintenance shop roof, the flammable storage building, a restroom and office spaces. The Oregon Military Department is planning to construct a new Redmond readiness center within 20 years; the armory repairs are intended to sustain the present tenants until then.

The contract for the firm to perform architectural/engineering services is scheduled to be awarded on approximately May 13. The contract will take effect on approximately May 16.
