The Dome Building is a state-owned facility that is used by the Oregon Department of Corrections as an administrative building. The building is open to the public for daily use Monday through Friday and is located at 2575 Center Street N.E. in Salem.
The main entrance located on the west side of the building consists of concrete stairs and landings with a separate, single set of stairs located in close proximity on each side north and south of the main entrance. Over the years the painted concrete surfaces have deteriorated and some structural concrete repairs are necessary.
Work includes performing all structural repairs to the existing concrete surface and installing new epoxy coatings with non-slip properties and a four-inch wide, yellow safety strip at all stair edges/nosings.
The project estimate is $18,000, and final completion is scheduled for June 17.
